GAC Aion Unveils Upgraded Magazine Battery Technology
On April 12, GAC Aion announced the upgrade of its magazine battery technology, which provides a multi-level systematic safety protection solution covering battery cells, structure, management systems, and vehicle architecture. According to the official introduction, GAC Aion pioneered a "double-sided cooling" rapid cooling structure for the battery pack, enabling the coolant to efficiently envelop the battery cells and enhance thermal management efficiency. The magazine battery is also equipped with a passive safety protection system, dividing the entire battery pack into multiple independent thermal control compartments. If a problem occurs in any compartment, the built-in heat-absorbing material can immediately cool it down, while the heat insulation material blocks heat conduction, preventing thermal runaway from spreading. Additionally, it is equipped with a full-chain electrical protection system and an all-weather battery management system, enabling real-time monitoring and risk control in various scenarios such as operation, charging, and parking.
