Solar module manufacturer Solx is constructing the country's first solar module manufacturing plant at the former HP industrial park in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The plant is expected to have a planned capacity of 1GW, with a total investment of $64 million. Currently, the first phase of construction has already invested $25 million. The company emphasizes that the plant will be entirely locally owned and operated, with no foreign interests involved. The construction period will create over 200 local jobs, and it is anticipated to drive more than 600 employment opportunities in logistics, supply chain, and supporting industries.
