On Thursday, April 10, data released by Codelco showed that the company's copper production in February fell 6% YoY to 98,100 mt. Codelco, the world's largest copper producer, has been striving to boost its declining production in recent years. Production at Escondida, the world's largest copper mine owned by BHP, rose 16% YoY to 113,400 mt. Copper production at the Collahuasi mine, jointly operated by Glencore and Anglo American, dropped 62% to 17,000 mt. Patricio Hidalgo, head of Anglo American in Chile, stated earlier this week that the company expects the mine's output to lean towards H2. He said, "Due to the stage of the mine's life cycle, development in 2025 will focus on minerals with lower copper content." For more updates on the copper industry chain, you are welcome to attend the CCIE 2025 SMM (20th) Copper Conference & Copper Industry Expo, hosted by SMM, which will be held grandly in Nanchang, Jiangxi from April 22-25, 2025.
