Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 9, SAIC Motor and OPPO officially announced that they had signed an enhanced strategic cooperation agreement aimed at deepening their collaboration across multiple smart ecosystem scenarios.

Building on their previous achievements in seamlessly integrating vehicle systems with smartphones—through unified software platforms and interconnected ecosystems—the two companies plan to expand this synergy to encompass home, mobility, and workplace environments. The initiative is designed to deliver a globally consistent, user-centric, and flexible smart lifestyle experience.

The partnership traces back to August 2022, when SAIC Motor and OPPO jointly unveiled the "Eco-Domain" cross-device integration solution and established the Eco-Domain Joint Lab.

In August 2023, Rising Auto, a brand under SAIC Motor, launched the "Rising Bach Cockpit Digital Ecosystem," enabling seamless, high-speed interaction between smartphones and vehicle systems. The Eco-Domain concept reflects the joint strengths of SAIC Motor and OPPO in smart vehicle development, mobile devices, and broader smart terminal technologies. It integrates SAIC Motor's "Z-One Galaxy Full-Stack Intelligent Vehicle Solution" with OPPO's "Pantanal Cross-Platform Smart System," achieving deep-level system architecture integration, shared software and hardware capabilities, data and service ecosystem trust, and multi-modal intelligent interaction.

Under the new agreement, SAIC Motor and OPPO will roll out their integrated car-device solutions across both the former's self-owned and joint-venture brands.

The scope of cooperation will also extend beyond in-vehicle and smartphone connectivity to encompass a broader Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem—covering devices such as smartwatches, tablets, and wireless earbuds. Furthermore, the partnership will scale beyond China to reach international markets, including Europe, Southeast Asia, India, South America, and the Middle East.

As automotive and smartphone technologies converge, OPPO—an early mover in the in-car technology space—has already established collaborations with several automakers, including BYD, Li Auto, Tesla, NIO, and XPENG, in addition to its deepening ties with SAIC Motor.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
