SMM Rare Earth Morning Meeting Summary: Medium-Heavy Rare Earth Prices Continue to Rise, Pr-Nd Prices Drop Significantly. Yesterday, the prices of medium-heavy rare earths such as dysprosium and terbium continued to rise. Some traders increased the shipments of Pr-Nd oxide while reducing the supply of medium-heavy rare earths, leading to a significant decline in Pr-Nd prices compared to medium-heavy rare earth prices.

SMM April 10 News:

Rare Earth Ore

Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices are around 36,000 yuan/mt, monazite prices are around 42,500 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore prices are around 189,000 yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Currently, suppliers of rare earth ore are in a wait-and-see mode, with low willingness to sell, and rare earth ore prices remain stable.

Rare Earth Oxides

Prices: The quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide is around 433,000-437,000 yuan/mt, the mainstream quotation range for dysprosium oxide is 1.68-1.7 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide prices have been adjusted to around 7.05-7.1 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, prices of medium-heavy rare earths such as dysprosium and terbium continued to rise. Some traders increased the shipments of Pr-Nd oxide while reducing the supply of medium-heavy rare earths, leading to a significant decline in Pr-Nd prices relative to medium-heavy rare earth prices.

Rare Earth Metals

Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd alloy is 531,000-535,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy is quoted at around 1.63-1.65 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal is quoted at around 8.6-8.7 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, metal manufacturers adjusted metal quotations following oxide prices. Magnetic material enterprises showed weak purchase willingness, leading to a significant decline in Pr-Nd alloy prices. However, due to rising raw material prices, metal manufacturers significantly raised quotations for dysprosium and terbium metals.

NdFeB Blank

Prices: NdFeB blank N38 (Ce) closed at 145-155 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40M closed at 191-201 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40H closed at 195-205 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 45SH (ce) closed at 245-265 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Due to the impact of current export control policies, the magnetic material market has shown high demand for medium-heavy rare earths such as gadolinium and holmium, while the purchase of Pr-Nd products has slowed. This situation has led to significant fluctuations in rare earth market prices, and it is expected that market prices will continue to maintain this fluctuating trend in the short term.

NdFeB Scrap

Prices: Pr-Nd recycled from NdFeB scrap closed at 462-470 yuan/kg; dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap closed at 1,613-1,635 yuan/kg; terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap closed at 5,232-5,341 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Currently, scrap prices fluctuate with oxide prices. The price trend of Pr-Nd products is weak, and market transactions still need further observation.
