Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 9, autonomous driving company WeRide announced a strategic collaboration with BlackBerry QNX to accelerate the development and deployment of software-defined vehicle (SDV) solutions for global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
As part of the partnership, WeRide is deeply integrating BlackBerry QNX's technology stack into its WePilot advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), which is designed for L2++ passenger vehicles. WePilot entered mass production by the end of 2023 through joint efforts with WeRide's strategic investor and global Tier 1 supplier Bosch. The solution is first applied to the STERRA ES and ET models under Chery's EXEED brand, offering consumers full-scenario, integrated driving and parking assistance.
WePilot runs on the QNX® OS for Safety, a real-time microkernel operating system that has earned pre-certification from TÜV Rheinland and meets the highest industry safety standards. Known for its reliability and safety, QNX OS is widely used in safety-critical sectors such as aerospace, healthcare, and transportation.
With its functional and cyber safety capabilities, WePilot supports HD map-free operation, multi-modal sensor integration, and continuous learning via WeRide's proprietary deep learning stack.
