Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 8, XPENG officially unveiled the 2025 X9 MPV model, kicking off presales with prices starting at 399,800 yuan. The new vehicle introduces comprehensive upgrades, particularly in its cabin design, while maintaining the brand's signature futuristic styling.

The 2025 XPENG X9 continues the marque's family design language with a sleek, high-tech appearance and an impressively low drag coefficient of just 0.227Cd. At the front, it features a closed-off grille typical of battery electric vehicles, flanked by sharp split-style LED headlamps and a full-width light strip for a distinctive visual identity. A honeycomb pattern has been added to the lower front bumper, complemented by gloss black trim elements that enhance the vehicle's sporty and refined appeal.

From the side, the new XPENG X9 presents a flowing silhouette with a gently rising waistline stretching from the front to the rear. Flush door handles and aerodynamic wheels add a contemporary touch. Notably, the model debuts 20-inch "Starshine" floating wheels with dynamic center caps—developed with technology derived from Rolls-Royce—contributing to its premium aesthetic. A new AI-powered blue indicator light on the vehicle enhances both safety and ambiance. Darkened A- and B-pillars help create a floating roof effect, further elevating its visual presence.

At the rear, sharp character lines and a striking full-width taillight design—highlighted by a prominent XPENG logo—offer strong brand recognition and a sense of dynamism.

Inside, the 2025 X9 delivers a significantly upgraded cabin experience. The model expands its soft-touch coverage to 26.6 square meters, with an added 3.2 square meters of plush materials. High-end chromium-free leather and eco-friendly synthetic materials are paired with components finished using PVD vacuum coating technology, enhancing both tactile quality and visual sophistication.

XPENG collaborated with orthopedic specialists to refine the seating, offering 10-point massage for the first and second rows as standard, with an option to upgrade to a 16-point system for a more luxurious, stress-relieving experience. The third-row seats now feature stepless electric adjustment for both backrests and headrests, can fully recline to 180 degrees, and come with heated cushions. Additional new features include an in-cabin 220V power outlet and a microphone-free karaoke setup.

Under the hood, the XPENG X9 is offered in both single- and dual-motor configurations, with battery options including lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium. The single-motor variant delivers up to 235 kW, while the dual-motor version reaches a combined output of 370 kW. The vehicle boasts an impressive maximum range of 740 kilometers.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
