Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 7, SAIC-GM-Wuling hosted its 2025 tech day event in Hangzhou, highlighting advancements across four key technology platforms: Shenlian Battery, Lingmou Intelligent Driving, Lingyu Cockpit, and Lingxi Powertrain (names all in Chinese pinyin).

The company also kicked off pre-sales for its new flagship family sedan, the Baojun Xiangjing, which features Lingmou Intelligent Driving (Advanced Edition) and the Lingyu Cockpit.

Shenlian Battery

The newly introduced Shenlian Battery 3.0 emphasizes safety through extreme design, manufacturing, and validation, achieving "Five-Zero Safety" (zero combustion, diffusion, water ingress, intrusion, and leakage) via fireproof cells, a five-horizontal-seven-vertical structural layout, and integrated CTC (cell-to-chassis) technology.

Looking ahead, the Shenlian Battery 4.0 will feature 800V high-voltage architecture, CTB (cell-to-body) integration, AI-based energy management, and wireless BMS (battery management system). It will be powered by the 6C high-manganese battery, capable of recharging 50% in 7 minutes, with over 1,000 km of range targeted.

Lingmou Intelligent Driving

On the intelligent driving front, SGMW introduced the full Lingmou tech matrix. Built on a two-stage end-to-end architecture, the system scales across four levels: Basic, Standard, Advanced, and Flagship.

The Standard Edition offers AEB, highway NOA (navigation on autopilot), smart parking, and memory-based urban navigation, while the Advanced Edition adds eight active safety features, door-to-door smart driving, and valet parking. SGMW also debuted the industry's first intelligent driving solution tailored for commercial vehicles, covering both manned and unmanned logistics.

Lingyu Cockpit

The Lingyu Cockpit, powered by SGMW's self-developed Lingyu AI large model, delivers enhanced in-car interactions with faster, more precise voice recognition and multi-passenger response. It integrates a "1+N" architecture coordinating over 14 smart agents, enabling 0.38-second response time.

Lingxi Powertrain

The Lingxi Powertrain 3.0 was also released, boasting a ten-in-one electric drive system with high integration, improved winter charging, and maximum torque of over 4000 N·m. Its silicon carbide power module and variable voltage boost deliver 2% efficiency gains and reduced fuel consumption.

SGMW further unveiled the Lingxi Powertrain 4.0, based on an 800V high-voltage platform and featuring a twelve-in-one drive system aiming to democratize 30,000 rpm performance in the sub-150,000-yuan vehicle segment.

Notably, Lingxi Powertrain will also expand to commercial vehicles. Its dedicated range-extender system features a 75kW hair-pin flat-wire liquid-cooled motor, offering a 1,000-km range and fuel consumption of just 4.3L per 100 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
