Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 8, Great Wall Motor ("GWM") announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics, marking a significant step toward the deeper integration of robotics and advanced technologies within the automotive manufacturing sector.

Founded in 2016, Unitree Robotics is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the development of civilian robots, particularly in the software and information technology services industry.

The partnership between the two companies will focus on collaboration in several key areas, including humanoid and quadruped robot technologies, development of robot hardware and software, intelligent control systems, and smart spatial applications.

According to the announcement, the partnership will concentrate on three major pillars: advancing fundamental technologies in embodied intelligence, innovating around "vehicle + robot" application scenarios, and enhancing intelligent vehicle manufacturing. The initial phase of the collaboration will center on the integration of off-road vehicles with robotic dogs, exploring use cases such as equipment transport and expedition assistance.

GWM emphasized that the company remains committed to a long-term development strategy anchored in high-quality growth. By combining in-house R&D with external partnerships, it aims to expand its network of technological allies, collaborating with leading global tech firms and academic institutions to build an open, shared, and sustainable AI ecosystem. This initiative is expected to accelerate GWM's transformation into a globally competitive smart technology company.

Humanoid robotics has emerged as one of the hottest tracks in the automotive industry this year. In addition to GWM, a growing number of automakers—including XPENG, Chery, Changan, Tesla, Xiaomi, Geely, GAC Group, NIO, Li Auto, Leapmotor, and BAIC BluePark—have already entered the field, signaling a new wave of competition at the intersection of mobility and intelligent robotics.
