Impact of the US Trade War on Domestic High-Purity Quartz Sand
Regarding the impact of the trade war on high-purity quartz sand, SMM learned that the US is currently the main source of high-purity quartz inner layer sand for quartz crucibles in China, with an annual trade volume of nearly 40,000 mt. Due to the impact of the trade war, the price of quartz sand imported from the US may increase due to tariffs, potentially leading to higher domestic crucible costs. Additionally, there is a possibility of domestic sand partially replacing imported sand for production, and the domestic quartz sand market is expected to improve. It is recommended to monitor changes in the quotations of domestic import sand traders in April.
