Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 27, 2025, Shanghai TCab Technology Co., Ltd. ("TCab Tech"), a Chinese developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced the completion of its Series B+ strategic funding round.

The fresh funding was jointly led by Grand Neobay Venture Capital and Chifortune Venture Capital.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the company has also laid out clear plans for a future IPO.

As of March, TCab Tech has secured six rounds of financing, with total funding exceeding USD 100 million.

Positioned at the forefront of the tiltrotor eVTOL sector in China, the company has driven significant momentum in the country's emerging low-altitude economy through technical innovation and practical application development.

In October 2023, TCab Tech completed the maiden flight of its self-developed E20 eVTOL aircraft, a tiltrotor aircraft designed for high-speed cruising, strong payload capacity, cost efficiency, and shared propulsion systems. The aircraft's airworthiness certification application has been accepted by the CAAC East China Regional Administration, with certification and mass production expected by 2027.

The E20 features a tiltrotor configuration and proprietary control algorithms, paired with large-diameter, low-speed five-blade propellers and high power-to-weight ratio Safran intelligent motors. Its noise-reduction design ensures minimal environmental disruption during flight. The aircraft runs on an 800V high-voltage platform for faster charging and improved energy efficiency. A notable innovation is its Cell-To-Wing (CTW) design, which integrates the battery system with the wing structure to enhance safety, structural efficiency, and reduce overall weight.

TCab Tech has also partnered with Safran to use the latter's ENGINeUS 100 motor system—an electric motor that in January 2025 received type certification (TC) from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency ("EASA"), making it the world's first certified motor designed for new air mobility applications.

Progress has also been made in airworthiness certification. In January this year, TCab Tech signed a G-1 issue paper with the Civil Aviation Administration of China, marking a major milestone that signals the transition of the E20's type certification process into its substantive phase.
