Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD officially marked its entry into the Swiss market by hosting a brand launch event from April 1 to 2, unveiling its first wave of models to local consumers. The lineup includes the all-electric BYD SEAL and SEALION 7, and the plug-in hybrid electric SEAL U DM-i, offering a range of powertrain options to support Switzerland's transition to sustainable mobility.

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li attended the launch and delivered remarks, expressing enthusiasm about the company's expansion into Switzerland. "We are excited to extend our sales network into Switzerland and bring more consumers the benefits of BYD's sustainable technologies. We believe models equipped with our cutting-edge Blade Battery and CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology, like the SEAL and SEALION 7, as well as the DM-i Super Hybrid system in the SEAL U DM-i, will be well-received by local customers," she said.

In partnership with renowned local dealer Harmony, BYD has opened its first store in downtown Zurich, located at Uraniastrasse 31. Additional locations are planned for Zug and other cities across Switzerland.

BYD is also joining forces with Automotive Suisse to open two more outlets in Lugano and Bellinzona, which are set to begin trial operations this month and officially launch in the third quarter. By the end of the year, BYD aims to establish 15 retail locations across Switzerland, strengthening its footprint in Europe and accelerating the shift toward sustainable transportation.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
