[Australia’s Endeavor Silver-Zinc Mine Nearing Restart]
On April 2nd, Polymetals Resources Ltd announced that its Endeavor Silver-Zinc Mine in New South Wales, Australia is nearing a restart, with commissioning activities scheduled to begin in April 2025 and first ore processing and concentrate production expected in May. Furthermore, the company anticipates generating initial cash flow within the current quarter.
During the March 2024 quarter, several key underground development milestones were achieved. First ore has already been stockpiled underground in preparation for crushing and hoisting activities planned for May. At the same time, upgrades to the ventilation system, as well as commissioning of production drill rigs, loaders, and other mobile equipment, continued in line with the Mine Restart Plan. On the surface, critical refurbishment works at the processing plant are also progressing, including repairs to the SAG and ball mills, and replacement of the mill feed infrastructure. Once fully operational, the plant will have a processing capacity of 1.2 million tonnes of ore per annum.
As of 2023, the mine reports 13.2 million tonnes of Measured and Indicated Resources, with average grades of zinc and lead at 8.1% and 4.7% respectively.
