In March 2025, China's lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF₆) industry experienced a positive trend, with production rising by 13% month-on-month and 51% year-on-year

In March 2025, China's lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF₆) industry experienced a positive trend, with production rising by 13% month-on-month and 51% year-on-year. This growth was primarily driven by the increase in terminal market demand and overall industry demand, leading to higher operating rates at LiPF₆ factories. However, the price of LiPF₆ declined slightly in March due to raw material factors. Downstream buyers remained cautious in their purchasing, with orders mainly following a just-in-time production model. Meanwhile, the operating rate of cell companies increased compared to February, prompting LiPF₆ factories to flexibly adjust production based on market demand, which significantly boosted output.

Looking ahead to April, terminal demand is expected to rise, driving up the demand for LiPF₆. The output of LiPF₆ in China is projected to increase by approximately 1% month-on-month and 31% year-on-year.
