China Rare Earth Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tsinghua University.

On March 25, China Rare Earth Group and Tsinghua University signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing, engaging in in-depth discussions on major technological breakthroughs and innovative talent cultivation. Liu Leiyun, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Rare Earth Group, held talks with Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University, and witnessed the signing ceremony. Guo Yong, Deputy Party Secretary of Tsinghua University, presided over the signing ceremony. Yang Guoan and Xie Zhihong, Party leaders of China Rare Earth Group, and Zhang Hongjie, Professor of Tsinghua University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the event.

Liu Leiyun introduced the background of the establishment of China Rare Earth Group, as well as its industrial layout and technological innovation. He stated that Tsinghua University, as a world-class and top domestic institution of higher education, is characterized by its interdisciplinary integration, concentration of specialized high-level research talents, and comprehensive high-precision scientific experimental facilities. It has cultivated and forged a large number of academicians, experts, young talents, and industry elites for China's rare earth industry. He looks forward to deepening cooperation between the two sides, further strengthening collaboration in basic research, talent cultivation, scientific research, platform co-construction, and achievement transformation, focusing on the fields of rare earth functional materials and deep processing applications, and contributing to the modernization of China through high-level university-enterprise cooperation and high-quality development.

Li Luming expressed gratitude to China Rare Earth Group for its long-term concern and support for the development of the university. He stated that in recent years, Tsinghua University has kept in mind the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, faced the major strategic needs of the country, deepened reform and innovation, and achieved frequent highlights in talent cultivation, scientific research, and discipline construction. The Tsinghua research team, represented by Academician Zhang Hongjie, has made breakthrough progress in the field of rare earth bio-manufacturing, providing important support for the high-level self-reliance and self-strengthening of China's rare earth technology. The cooperation between the two sides is timely and promising. He looks forward to taking this signing as an opportunity to fully leverage the industrial advantages of China Rare Earth Group and the disciplinary advantages of Tsinghua University, jointly create a new highland for technological innovation, build a new model for talent co-cultivation, explore new paths for serving the country, and make greater contributions to the comprehensive advancement of China's modernization with high-quality development.

Yang Guoan and Guo Yong signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both parties. According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out comprehensive cooperation in strengthening joint research on key core technologies, co-building high-level technological innovation platforms, and conducting high-level talent exchange and cultivation.

After the signing ceremony, Liu Leiyun and his delegation visited the Tsinghua University History Museum, the Rare Earth New Materials Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, and the Material Science Center.

Relevant department heads of China Rare Earth Group headquarters and directly affiliated enterprises, as well as heads of relevant departments and institutions of Tsinghua University's School of Materials Science, participated in the event.
