India's state-owned coal giant Coal India Ltd announced on April 1 that it will increase the benchmark prices of coking coal and non-coking coal by 10 rupees (approximately 0.87 yuan) per mt starting from April 16 this year. The price adjustment aims to raise funds for the "Coal Mines Pension Scheme-1998" (CMPS-1998) and is expected to impact regulated industries such as power and other non-regulated sectors, while also increasing the attractiveness of China's coal exports to India.
