In the field of lithium recycling, low-energy deep concentration technology is accelerating innovation. The synergy between membrane technology and chemical innovation, such as EDTA-assisted loose nanofiltration technology, enables efficient separation of lithium and magnesium, with a lithium recovery rate exceeding 90%. It also allows for the high-value utilization of magnesium by-products, reducing environmental impact. Breakthroughs have also been made in direct recycling technologies, such as the "low-temperature crushing - membrane separation - electrodeposition" short-process technology, which skips traditional high-pollution steps, achieving a lithium recovery rate of over 90% and reducing energy consumption by 35%-70%.
Emerging green bio-metallurgical technology, which uses acidophilic bacteria metabolism to extract lithium, is still in the R&D stage but shows great potential due to its environmental friendliness and low energy consumption. Meanwhile, digitalization and intelligence are empowering the industry, leveraging AI algorithms and blockchain to improve recovery rates and reduce costs.
