The industrialisation project of polyimide lithium battery separators with a total investment of 5 billion yuan by Jiangsu Yucheng New Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as Jiangsu Yucheng) commenced in Yixing. The project, led by the high-performance polymer research team of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, aims to significantly enhance the safety of lithium-ion batteries in the new energy industry. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion and operation by October 2025. The polyimide separator products produced have applied for over 50 patents, with 35 already granted. Core patents have been submitted for PCT international patents, marking a significant step towards technological advancement in China's lithium battery separator industry. Jiangsu Yucheng was established in 2024 with a registered capital of 300 million yuan, engaging in R&D of new material technologies, technology promotion services, and sales of new-type metal functional materials.
