7.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Myanmar, Strong Tremors Felt in Yunnan, No Impact on Local Lead Smelters

【SMM News】On March 28, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar. The epicenter of the earthquake was 294 kilometers from the nearest border of China, causing strong tremors in Xishuangbanna, Dehong, Kunming, Lijiang, Baoshan, and Dali in Yunnan Province, with tremors also reported in Guizhou and Guangxi. This earthquake was the 17th magnitude 6 or above earthquake globally this year and the largest one so far. SMM learned that the earthquake has not yet affected the production of secondary lead smelters in Yunnan.
