On March 26, the copper-based new materials project of Jinxin Copper, a subsidiary of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group, held a production commencement (start production) ceremony. The commissioning of this project will further consolidate Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group's leading position in the industry, provide industrial support for Anhui province in building the "Three Bases and One Zone," and hold significant strategic importance for further enhancing the modernization level of the copper-based new materials industry and ensuring the resilience and security of China's copper industry chain and supply chain. The project commenced construction in December 2022 and, after concerted efforts and debugging, has now been successfully completed and put into production. This marks another successful practice by Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group in continuously implementing actions to improve quality, expand volume, and increase efficiency, using advanced technologies to transform and upgrade traditional industries, adjust and optimize the industrial structure, and accelerate high-quality development. The project is anchored in the development direction of high-end, intelligent, and green transformation, aiming to build a "boutique and model project in the global copper industry." It adheres to high-end leadership, optimizes process flows, adopts the most advanced manufacturing technologies in the industry, and constructs main process projects such as smelting, electrolysis, and copper semis processing, as well as supporting projects for environmental protection and power. It has an annual production capacity of 500,000 mt of high-end copper semis, along with by-products such as gold and silver. It insists on intelligent-driven development, comprehensively promoting mechanization to replace labor, automation to reduce labor, and intelligence to minimize labor, fully applying the latest technological achievements such as big data, 5G, and artificial intelligence, and building "1 smart center, 1 industrial internet platform, and N smart applications," creating "lights-out workshops" and "low-labor workshops." It persists in green transformation, synergistically promoting carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, and growth, using advanced technologies like HRS to transform the company's technical equipment, strengthening comprehensive resource utilization, and enhancing green development levels. Xu Zhongjun, manager of Jinxin Copper, stated that after the project is put into production, the investment budget per mt of copper and the physical labor productivity will increase by 30% compared to the industry peers; the energy efficiency per unit product will surpass the benchmark level, reaching international advanced standards, achieving optimal cost and technical-economic indicators, and further enhancing the project's production efficiency and resource utilization rate, strongly promoting the company's high-quality development. Copper is a key foundational material for developing new quality productive forces, with broad development prospects. In the next step, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group will continue to advance the expansion project of the Mirador copper mine and other upstream resource developments, further consolidating the entire industry chain advantage of "mine-smelting-copper-based new materials," setting a benchmark for the high-quality development of the global copper industry. To learn more about the dynamics of the copper industry chain, you are welcome to attend the CCIE 2025 SMM (20th) Copper Industry Conference and Copper Industry Expo, hosted by SMM, which will be grandly held in Nanchang, Jiangxi, from April 22-25, 2025. Over 3,000 industry elites, representatives from upstream and downstream enterprises of the copper industry chain, government department leaders, industry associations, third-party equipment, logistics and warehousing, and university research experts will gather together. The conference covers the entire copper industry chain, including mines, smelting, copper processing, trade, recycling, and end-use applications. At the conference, more than 100 exhibitors will showcase the latest copper processing and smelting equipment, high-quality raw material suppliers, new-type copper-based materials, and other cutting-edge achievements in the copper industry, fully demonstrating the innovation and vitality of the copper industry. The conference activities are rich and varied: the main forum focuses on global copper market trends, raw material supply, analyzes policy impacts, and interprets market directions. Sub-forums delve into industry hot topics around electrical power transmission and distribution, secondary copper, copper-based new materials, hardware and plumbing, and ESS. During the conference, there will also be a two-day field trip to 12 representative enterprises in the copper industry with a cumulative production capacity of 1 million mt. Sharing cutting-edge technologies and valuable experiences will help upgrade the copper industry chain and promote high-quality development in the industry. The CCIE 2025 SMM (20th) Copper Industry Conference and Copper Industry Expo will help you grasp the industry pulse, expand your network, and seek business opportunities! SMM cordially invites you to gather in Nanchang, Jiangxi, from April 22-25, to unite in the new era of copper and jointly plan for new development!
