Beijing (Gasgoo)- Autonomous driving company iMotion has officially established a wholly-owned subsidiary, iMotion Robot (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., marking its expansion into the robotics sector, according to the company's announcement on March 25.

The new company will focus on various types of robots, core software and hardware, aligning with the industry's transition from "AI + Automotive" to embodied intelligence.

Leveraging iMotion's technological foundation, iMotion Robot aims to integrate robotics with autonomous driving technologies, particularly in visual perception and multimodal interaction. The company will pursue a full-chain approach from R&D to commercialization, driving multi-scenario applications in the "AI + Automotive + Robotics" ecosystem.

Autonomous driving and embodied intelligence share core technological components such as environmental perception, multimodal decision-making algorithms, and perception hardware. These synergies allow for significant cost reductions in cross-domain R&D. Meanwhile, automotive companies are increasingly entering the humanoid robotics sector, benefiting from industrial and ecosystem synergies.

As a leading provider of mass-produced autonomous driving solutions in China, iMotion has developed strong expertise in autonomous driving algorithms, software-hardware integration, and engineering capabilities. This foundation positions iMotion Robot for success in the robotics industry. Through its new subsidiary, iMotion aims to broaden its business scope, deepen its technological capabilities, and foster cross-sector innovation, preparing for future competition in the "AI+" era.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
