Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 21, DENZA, one of BYD's premium vehicle brand, put its latest flagship SUV, the DENZA N9, onto the market, introducing two variants priced between 389,800 yuan and 449,800 yuan. The model debuts with a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) version, while a BEV (battery electric vehicle) variant is set to follow.

The DENZA N9 features a sleek, modern exterior with a closed-off front grille typical of new energy vehicles, complemented by elongated headlights that enhance its premium appeal. The DENZA emblem at the center of the grille boosts brand recognition and lends a refined, commanding presence.

The SUV's streamlined side profile emphasizes its substantial dimensions, measuring 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. Buyers can choose from four exterior colors.

Equipped with multi-spoke alloy wheels and 275/45 R22 tires, the DENZA N9 also features six-piston fixed brake calipers painted in vibrant yellow for a sportier contrast.

At the rear, the taillight design maintains DENZA's signature styling, offering high visibility even without a full-width light strip.

Inside, the DENZA N9 boasts a wraparound cockpit design that creates a warm and luxurious atmosphere. Wood grain accents on the dashboard and door panels further enhance the premium feel. The tech-rich interior includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display.

The second-row seats offer extensive comfort features, including ventilation, heating, massage functions, 14-way electric adjustment, and four-way leg rest adjustment. Additionally, the seats can slide laterally, optimizing rear cabin space. Practical luxury extends to dual fold-out tables, dual 50W wireless charging pads, and a 17.3-inch roof-mounted display.

Meanwhile, the third-row seats offer six-way electric adjustment, with cushions that can be raised or lowered. When fully reclined, the second and third-row seats create a spacious sleeping area large enough for two adults—ideal for camping or relaxation.

Under the hood, the PHEV variant is powered by a 2.0T turbocharged engine delivering 207 horsepower, paired with a three-motor system generating a combined output of 680 kW. The DENZA N9 achieves a battery-powered range of 200 km (CLTC) and a combined driving range of 1,302 km. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

The DENZA N9 also comes equipped with advanced autonomous driving capabilities, featuring the "God's Eye B" high-level intelligent driving system (DiPilot 300). The system enables end-to-end map-free urban navigation and is supported by cutting-edge hardware, including a high-precision LiDAR, five millimeter-wave radars, 12 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Powered by NVIDIA's Orin X chip, the system delivers 254 TOPS of computing power.

In addition, the model integrates DENZA's e3 technology platform and the DiSus-A system, enabling independent three-motor drive, dual rear-wheel steering (±20°), and advanced vehicle motion control. These innovations allow for ultra-tight turning with a 4.65-meter minimum radius, compass turns, automated parking, enhanced stability on low-traction surfaces, and high-speed blowout control. The vehicle also supports features such as 15° crab walking and intelligent snow mode. Notably, all of e3  platform's new functionalities debuting on the N9 will be available for OTA updates on the upcoming DENZA Z9.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
