Beijing (Gasgoo)- LiDAR company RoboSense recently announced a strategic partnership with autonomous mining solution developer EACON to accelerate the deployment of advanced autonomous driving solutions in mining operations. Leveraging their respective strengths and expertise, the two companies aim to enhance mining productivity and drive the global expansion of unmanned mining trucks.

Through this collaboration, RoboSense and EACON will focus on scaling up autonomous mining truck operations from single-site deployments to large-scale implementation. The partnership aims to improve vehicle stability and reliability, ensuring compatibility with diverse mining environments and accelerating the global adoption of unmanned mining transportation solutions.

EACON provides driverless solutions and transportation services for mining sites. As of February 2025, the company operates the world's largest autonomous mining fleet at a single site, with over 1,000 unmanned trucks and thousands of intelligent terminal devices, accumulating more than 33 million kilometers of autonomous operation.

Mining operations require automation due to their hazardous environments, labor shortages, and closed-off nature. To address challenges such as dust, extreme temperatures, and adverse weather conditions, RoboSense and EACON are developing high-performance perception solutions. These technologies will ensure the large-scale deployment of autonomous mining trucks in earthmoving, coal mining, limestone extraction, and non-ferrous metal mining operations.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
