ICSG: Global Refined Copper Market Saw a Supply Deficit of 19,900 mt in January 2025

On March 21 (Friday), the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) stated in its latest monthly report that the global refined copper market saw a supply deficit of 19,000 mt in January 2025, compared to a deficit of 22,000 mt in December 2024.

On Friday, March 21, the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) stated in its latest monthly report that the global refined copper market saw a supply deficit of 19,000 mt in January 2025, compared to a shortage of 22,000 mt in December 2024.

In January 2025, global refined copper production was 2.38 million mt, and consumption reached 2.4 million mt.

The ICSG noted that after adjustments for bonded warehouse inventories in major consuming countries, the supply gap in January 2025 stood at 17,000 mt, while the shortfall in December 2024 was 51,000 mt.
