[BYD Recalls 6,843 Units of Fangchengbao 5 Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles] Recently, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products." The company decided to recall certain Fangchengbao 5 plug-in hybrid vehicles produced between October 16, 2023, and February 1, 2024, totaling 6,843 units, starting from January 24, 2025. For some of the vehicles within this recall, due to manufacturing issues, the bolts inside the integrated dual-motor controller's electrical connectors may not be properly tightened, leading to loosening and arcing at the bolt connection points during vehicle use. In extreme cases, this could result in smoke and fire, posing safety hazards. BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. will authorize Shenzhen Fangchengbao New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. to replace the integrated dual-motor controllers for the recalled vehicles free of charge, to eliminate the safety risks.
