China's Copper Semis Production Hits Record High in Jan-Feb 2025: NBS Report

According to SMM, a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that China's copper semis production in January-February 2025 was 3.163 million mt, reaching the highest level for the same period in recent years. Despite an earlier Chinese New Year, with downstream processing enterprises starting their holidays from late January, the copper semis production in the first two months still remained significant compared to the same period.

On September 2, the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) announced that it had approved Shanghai Yuqiang Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. to adjust its designated warehouse capacity for copper, aluminum and zinc futures. Eldorado Evaluates 43% Mill Expansion at McIlvenna Bay as Mine Nears Commercial Production

Eldorado Gold is evaluating a 43% expansion of processing capacity at the McIlvenna Bay copper-zinc mine in Saskatchewan, from 4,900 tpd to about 7,000 tpd, alongside a potential silver-lead circuit. More than 400,000 tonnes of material are available for processing as the operation ramps toward commercial production in Q3 2026. The existing feasibility plan targets average life-of-mine copper production of around 41 million lb (18.6kt) per year.

One and One Secures Over 2,000 Tonnes of Feedstock for New Philippine Metals Recovery Line

One and One Green Technologies has secured more than 2,000 tonnes of feedstock, including copper-bearing, nickel and electronic sludge, for its new metals recovery line in the Philippines. Equipment installation is underway and production is targeted before end-2026. The facility will recover copper, nickel, gold and silver from industrial and electronic waste, adding new local processing capacity for complex secondary metal feedstocks.
