SMM News on March 21st: According to customs data, China's die-cast zinc alloy exports in January were 531.78 tons, China's die-cast zinc alloy exports in February were 151.43 tons, and the cumulative export volume in January-February was 683.21 tons, up 37.89% year-on-year. According to historical data, the cumulative export volume from January to February this year also reached a record high in the past four years. What is the reason for this? How will China's subsequent export of die-cast zinc alloys develop?

SMM News on March 21st: According to customs data, China's die-cast zinc alloy exports in January were 531.78 tons, China's die-cast zinc alloy exports in February were 151.43 tons, and the cumulative export volume in January-February was 683.21 tons, up 37.89% year-on-year. According to historical data, the cumulative export volume from January to February this year also reached a record high in the past four years. What is the reason for this? How will China's subsequent export of die-cast zinc alloys develop?

According to the data, the region with the largest export of die-cast zinc alloy in January-February was Taiwan, China, with exports reaching 362.97 tons, followed by Vietnam (135.42 tons) and 孟加拉 (71.03 tons).

By month, the countries with the largest exports of die-cast zinc alloys in January and February are China, Taiwan and Vietnam.

SMM believes that the increase in exports mainly includes the following reasons:

First of all, due to the rise of Trump in the United States, domestic enterprises are worried about the future of international trade. Therefore, many enterprises have begun to deliver goods in advance through "export grabbing" since the end of last year to avoid potential trade risks. From January to February this year, some enterprises continued to accelerate the pace of delivery, resulting in a significant increase in the overall export volume in January and February compared with the same period last year.

Secondly, from the perspective of the exchange rate, although the RMB has appreciated slightly against the US dollar since mid-January, the overall data in recent years is still relatively low. Coupled with the market's concerns about subsequent tariff policies, the enthusiasm of enterprises to export has increased significantly.

How will China's die-cast zinc alloy exports develop in the future?

The following risk points may be faced later:

1. After experiencing the "export rush" from the end of last year to the beginning of this year, some enterprises reported that the current inventory of foreign traders is relatively high, and the high inventory level may put a certain pressure on the export of China's die-cast zinc alloy in the short term.

2. Since March 4, the United States has imposed another 10% tariff on China on the original 10% tariff. At the same time, since this year, Trump has made great strides in steel, aluminum, copper and other sectors. Whether the subsequent tariff policy will extend to die-cast zinc alloy is also what we need to pay attention to at all times.
