[SMM Scrap Battery & Secondary Crude Lead Weekly Review: Supply of Scrap Batteries Is Tight and Prices Are Firm, Some Secondary Crude Lead Prices Invert with Secondary Refined Lead] SMM March 21st: As it is currently the off-season for lead-acid battery scrap, market supply remains limited, compounded by recyclers holding back cargoes. As of March 21, 2025, the mainstream tax-inclusive procurement price for scrap EV batteries ranged from 10,150 to 10,400 yuan/mt.

SMM Mar 21 News: As it is currently the off-season for lead-acid battery scrap, market supply remains limited with recyclers holding back cargoes. As of March 21, 2025, the mainstream tax-inclusive procurement price for scrap EV batteries ranged between 10,150-10,400 yuan/mt. The high procurement quotes from secondary lead smelters have led to increased costs, pushing most enterprises into a loss. Consequently, the prices for secondary crude lead remained relatively firm, with some prices even surpassing those of secondary refined lead. As of March 21, 2025, the ex-factory price for secondary crude lead (tax-excluded) varied between 16,100-16,350 yuan/mt.
