Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 19, SAIC Motor-owned MG announced that its first global-oriented model for 2025 has been officially named the MG4 EV.

The new all-electric vehicle draws design inspiration from the Cyberster concept car, featuring a sealed front fascia and split LED headlights, creating a distinctive visual identity. The sculpted hood, accentuated by bold creases, enhances its mechanical aesthetics, while aerodynamic air ducts on both sides of the front bumper contribute to a dynamic and powerful coupe-like stance.

The side profile adopts a short front overhang for a sportier look, complemented by 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Retaining conventional mechanical door handles, the design prioritizes practicality.

At the rear, the innovative dual-layer spoiler and full-width taillights with arrow-shaped LED strips align geometrically with the high-mounted brake light. The vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency has been significantly improved over its predecessor, emphasizing its cutting-edge new energy vehicle attributes.

According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filing, the MG4 EV measures 4,395mm in length, 1,842mm in width, and 1,551mm in height, with a 2,750mm wheelbase, offering class-leading space for a compact car.

The model features a front-mounted single electric motor, specifically the TZ180XS1001 high-efficiency drive motor, delivering 120kW of maximum power. Additionally, it is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, ensuring improved stability and reliability.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
