Beijing (Gasgoo)- The new energy vehicle (NEV) arm of BAIC Group, BAIC BJEV, recently partnered with humanoid robot developer UBITECH to advance intelligent manufacturing by integrating humanoid robots into NEV production, according to UBITECH's announcement on March 19.

At the STELATO Super Factory, the production base for BAIC Group and Huawei's jointly developed executive-class electric sedan, UBITECH's humanoid industrial robot Walker S1 is deployed in the final assembly workshop for instrument line material inspections, achieving an accuracy rate of 99%.

As the first humanoid quality inspector at the STELATO Super Factory, Walker S1 utilizes a vision-based system to accurately identify and count automotive components. It collaborates with automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to complete an intelligent inspection process. The robot employs a 3D reconstruction model, generating simulation data that enhances the training of foundational vision models, ultimately enabling zero-shot visual inspections.

To address challenges such as occluded parts, similar appearances, and closely placed components, Walker S1 applies tracking-based post-processing fusion techniques to minimize false detections and omissions, significantly improving inspection reliability.

The STELATO Super Factory exemplifies BAIC Group's commitment to high-end, intelligent, and sustainable manufacturing. It features highly automated production lines, stringent quality control processes, and leading environmental standards. The plant boasts an automation rate nearing 100% in stamping and body workshops, approaching the standards of a "dark factory." The first model built at the facility is the STELATO S9, equipped with Huawei's ADS 3.0 advanced intelligent driving system.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
