Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 18, Geely's premium new energy vehicle brand ZEEKR officially launched its G-Pilot intelligent driving system in Hangzhou. The event highlighted three key technological advancements: the G-AES continuous automatic obstacle avoidance system, a fully integrated spot-to-spot parking function, and an L3 smart driving architecture.
A major highlight of G-Pilot is the G-AES, which enables precise and continuous avoidance of irregular obstacles. In simulated tests, vehicles traveling at 120 km/h successfully evaded two hazards—an accident vehicle and sudden rockfall—within 2–3 seconds. The feature is set to roll out starting in June 2025, enhancing driving safety.
Another feature is the full-scale spot-to- spot intelligent parking capability, allowing seamless navigation from departure to parking spots nationwide. The system supports urban NZP (Navigation ZEEKR Pilot) function and complex driving scenarios, including roundabouts, U-turns, variable lanes, highway ETC zones, and intersection waiting areas.
Leveraging Geely's robust capabilities, G-Pilot also boasts a near 30-fold increase in callable computing power, reaching 23.5 EFLOP. It has upgraded to a unified end-to-end Plus architecture, integrating perception, prediction, decision-making, and planning for a driving style closer to human expertise. The system further incorporates a multi-modal large language model (MLM) to enhance complex scenario handling.
Looking ahead, ZEEKR's L3 intelligent driving architecture, based on the ZEEA 3.0 centralized electronic architecture, utilizes a gigabit Ethernet ring network for enhanced data processing and transmission. It integrates a comprehensive 360-degree perception system, including five LiDAR sensors, millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic sensors, and vision-based perception.Additionally, ZEEKR announced that its upcoming flagship SUV, the ZEEKR 9X Grand, will debut at the Auto Shanghai 2025 in April. The model will feature the advanced G-Pilot H9 system with L3 capabilities, marking the brand’s readiness for the autonomous driving era.
