Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 18, GAC Group held the Xingling Intelligent Driving Action Plan and HPYTEC HL pre-sale launch event in Beijing, announcing significant advancements in its intelligent driving strategy.

The company officially introduced “Xingling Zhixing" ("Zhixing" translating to "intelligent driving") as the Chinese name for its ADiGO intelligent technology ecosystem and upgraded the ADiGO PILOT system to ADiGO GSD (GAC Self-Driving). This year, GAC Group plans to release China’s first L3 autonomous production vehicle onto the market and deliver the industry’s first factory-installed L4 production model, with large-scale L4 operations expected to begin in early 2026.

Under the new strategy, GAC Group's three wholly-owned brands will assume different roles. HYPTEC will lead in intelligent driving, with all models equipped with advanced driver assistance features, including urban NDA (Navigation Driving Assistance). Trumpchi and AION will focus on mass adoption, ensuring all models feature intelligent driving and automated parking, with mainstream models offering high-level smart capabilities.

GAC Group also announced that it will mass-produce and start selling China's first L3 autonomous passenger car in the fourth quarter of 2025, followed by an accelerated rollout of more L3 models in 2026.

In the L4 domain, GAC Group, in collaboration with DiDi Autonomous Driving, will produce and deliver the first globally adaptable L4 factory-installed mass-produced unmanned vehicle this year. By early 2026, the group aims to be the first Chinese automaker to scale up L4 operations, forming a commercial ecosystem integrating AI, manufacturing, and operations with DiDi. In 2027, GAC plans to introduce L4 unmanned vehicles for private consumers and expand its technology globally.

At the event, the HYPTEC brand debuted its first model after its recent brand refreshment, the HYPEC HL, which opened for pre-orders. Offered in six variants with battery-electric and range-extended powertrains, as well as five-seat and six-seat layouts, the HYPTEC HL is priced between 279,800 yuan and 329,800 yuan.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
