Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 18, GAC AION's HYPTEC brand officially launched pre-sales for the HYPTEC HL model, offering both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) options. The model comes in five- and six-seat configurations across six variants, with a pre-sale price range of 279,800 yuan to 329,800 yuan.

Inspired by luxury yachts, the HYPTEC HL combines the fluid elegance of the ocean with dynamic styling. Measuring 5,126mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and 1,750mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,088mm, the vehicle's streamlined design creates an expansive, yacht-like presence. Inside, the cabin features a wraparound design with a panoramic view, offering passengers an immersive travel experience.

A standout feature of the HYPTEC HL is its second-row dual zero-gravity seats, bringing MPV-level comfort to an SUV. Designed with family travel's demands in mind, the spacious seats provide enhanced support, ensuring long-distance comfort. The seats adopt 127.5° zero-pressure golden angle and offer 12-way electric adjustment along with an 18-point hot stone massage function, as well as ultra-soft Nappa leather upholstery and 20mm slow-rebound cushions.

The automaker said the new model also debuts the industry-first "Dark Night Vision" system, a military-grade night vision technology. Equipped with the pixel-level AI imaging engine and low-light color reconstruction technology, the system delivers enhanced night-time visibility, making dark environments appear as bright and colorful as daytime. This significantly improves the vehicle's camera imaging quality, enhancing functions such as 360° surround view and sentinel mode. The system effectively detects delivery bikes, children, and animals at night and ensures precise parking in low-light conditions. Future OTA updates will further integrate this feature with the vehicle's intelligent driving system, boosting night-time safety.

On the intelligent driving front, the HYPTEC HL features GAC Group's latest GSD advanced driver assistance system, equipped with LiDAR and an Orin-X chip as standard. Utilizing an end-to-end AI model, the system enables map-free navigation with over 99% coverage across various driving scenarios. Whether navigating congested traffic, maneuvering through sharp curves, avoiding road cones, or circumventing dynamic obstacles, the HYPTEC HL ensures seamless operation. Its smart parking function supports 3km-long memory parking and automatic valet parking, making even the most challenging parking spaces effortless to manage.

Inside the smart cabin, the HYPTEC HL is powered by the Qualcomm 8295P chip and integrates GAC Group's next-generation AI model with DeepSeek-R1 for significantly improved voice recognition, contextual understanding, and multi-turn conversational interactions.

In terms of driving dynamics, the HYPTEC HL debuts the brand's intelligent digital chassis, featuring standard adaptive damping (SDC) and air suspension with a maximum adjustable travel of 100mm, balancing performance and comfort.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
