On March 18, IM Motors officially put the IM6, the overseas version of its All-new LS6 model, onto the Thai market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 18, IM Motors, the premium new energy vehicle maker co-backed by SAIC Motor, Zhangjiang High-Tech, and Alibaba Group, officially put the IM6, the overseas version of its All-new LS6 model, onto the Thai market, marking the brand's entry into the global market, according to a post on the carmaker's WeChat account. The model had set sail from Shanghai Port on February 22, bound for Thailand.

As a reference, the domestic version of the All-new IM LS6 went on sale in late September 2024, offering five trim levels with an initial promotional price ranging from 216,900 yuan to 279,900 yuan.

The model features several exterior refinements over its inaugural generation, including a redesigned front bumper for a more striking appearance. The fog lights on both sides of the front end have been reshaped from elongated strips to circular designs for better visibility, while the lower air intake has been reduced in size, lowering the car's visual center of gravity.

Inside, the All-new IM LS6 retains its signature 26.3-inch ultra-wide display paired with a 10.5-inch touchscreen, along with a futuristic half-spoke steering wheel. The vehicle is equipped with multiple cutting-edge technologies anda facilities, including a high-precision long-range LiDAR, an NVIDIA Orin X chip, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, and IM Motors' advanced "Future Smart Cabin." It also runs on a quasi-900V platform (with a 400V system for the base model) and features the company's high-performance "Hurricane Motor" powertrain.

In terms of power performance, the All-new LS6 offers multiple rear-wheel-drive options with power outputs of 216kW, 248kW, 250kW, and 300kW, as well as a 579kW all-wheel-drive version. CLTC-rated range varies from 605km to 760km, depending on the configuration.

IM Motors said it had strategically chosen Thailand as its first overseas market due to the country's strong potential for new energy vehicle growth and its pivotal role as a gateway to Southeast Asia. Leveraging SAIC Motor's well-established global sales network, the company aims to position the IM6 as a premium offering in Thailand's high-end electric vehicle segment.

Moving forward, IM Motors plans to expand further into key high-end NEV markets, including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Northern Europe, and the Middle East, with the LS6 and L6 as its global flagship models.
