On March 18, the Datong-Huailai-Tianjin South 1000 kV ultra-high voltage AC project officially commenced. This ultra-high voltage project starts in Datong, Shanxi, and ends in Binhai New Area, Tianjin, passing through Hebei. The project involves the construction of four new substations, the expansion of one substation, and an additional transformer capacity of 18 million kVA, with a total line length of 770 kilometers. It is expected to be put into operation in June 2027. Upon completion, it will enhance the North China ultra-high voltage grid structure, improve the safety and stability of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei power grid, and promote energy transition and coordinated development.
