Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Xiaomi EV, the electric vehicle arm of Xiaomi, has entered into a strategic partnership with NaaS Technology ("NaaS"), a leading new energy asset operator, to expand its charging service ecosystem, according to a press release the latter issued on March 17.

The new collaboration will focus on charging network interoperability, user experience enhancement, and smart mobility innovation, aiming to provide Xiaomi vehicle owners with intelligent, efficient, and seamless charging solutions.

Under the agreement, Xiaomi EV users will be able to locate and access NaaS' extensive charging network—including the ones with its strategic partner FLEETIN—through the Xiaomi EV app and in-car charging map. This integration will allow users to benefit from NaaS' intelligent charging services, optimizing charging efficiency and convenience.

China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market continues to experience rapid growth, with both production and sales exceeding 12 million units in 2024 and total ownership reaching 31.4 million units. Since the latter half of 2023, NEVs have consistently accounted for more than 50% of the country's total new car sales. As competition intensifies, automakers are prioritizing after-sales services and user experience, with high-quality, efficient charging solutions becoming a key differentiator.

Xiaomi EV, a cornerstone of Xiaomi Group's smart mobility strategy, has gained significant momentum since its official debut in 2024, surpassing 135,000-unit annual deliveries—outpacing market expectations.

NaaS leverages AI technology to intelligently match charging demand and supply, enhancing the experience for EV owners (C-end) while boosting operational efficiency and profitability for charging station operators (B-end). The company has established deep partnerships with major automakers including BYD, NIO, Li Auto, XPENG, ARCFOX, and Great Wall Motor, while also integrating with digital map providers, connected car platforms, and sharing services to build a comprehensive charging ecosystem.

NaaS said its proprietary NEF (NAAS Energy Fintech) system, powered by AI algorithms, offers site selection, investment evaluation, pricing strategies, and operational management for charging stations. As of the third quarter of 2024, NaaS has had access to nearly 100,000 charging stations with around 1.15 million charging guns across China, serving over 13 million users.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
