Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 17, 2025, BYD officially introduced its Super e-Platform, a groundbreaking new energy vehicle (NEV) architecture, and simultaneously opened pre-sales for its Han L and Tang L models.

A key innovation of the Super e-Platform is the industry-first 1,000V high-voltage architecture designed for passenger vehicles. This enables BYD's newly developed "Flash Charging Battery", which, thanks to reduced internal resistance and advanced optimizations, supports up to 1,000A charging current and a 10C charge rate, delivering a maximum charging power of 1 megawatt (1,000kW). The result is an unprecedented charging speed of "2 kilometers of range per second", allowing users to gain 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes, effectively eliminating range anxiety.

BYD said it has also developed the world's first mass-produced 30,000 rpm electric motor, with a peak speed of 30,511 rpm, a maximum power output of 580kW, and a power density of 16.4kW/kg. This ultra-high-speed motor not only enhances acceleration and top speed but also reduces weight and volume, improving overall vehicle dynamics and efficiency.

In addition, BYD introduced a new-generation automotive-grade silicon carbide (SiC) power chip with an industry-leading 1,500V voltage rating, marking the highest-voltage SiC chip ever mass-produced for automotive applications. This chip provides crucial support for ultra-high-power charging capabilities.

To further support its megawatt-level fast-charging technology, BYD has developed the world's first fully liquid-cooled megawatt charging terminal system, capable of delivering up to 1,360kW of power. The company plans to establish over 4,000 megawatt-level charging stations across China, creating a robust high-speed charging network. Additionally, BYD introduced dual-gun charging and intelligent voltage boosting technologies to enhance charging compatibility and convenience.

As the first models to feature the Super e-Platform, the Han L and Tang L are now available for pre-order, with price ranges of 270,000 yuan–350,000 yuan and 280,000 yuan–360,000 yuan, respectively. Both models are equipped with the megawatt-level fast-charging technology and the 580kW high-power  electric motors, delivering a combined output of 810kW. The Han L accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, while the Tang L achieves the same in 3.6 seconds.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
