[Sunwoda Plans to Invest Over $1 Billion in Building a Power Battery Factory in Thailand] Recently, the Thailand National Targeted Industries Competitiveness Enhancement Committee passed a resolution approving an investment of over $1 billion by a subsidiary of China's Sunwoda Electronics to produce batteries for EVs and energy storage systems (ESS) in Thailand. This marks a new phase for Sunwoda's Thailand project.
It is reported that Sunwoda Automotive Energy Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is expected to build a production site in the Eastern Economic Corridor of Thailand. Its first factory, located in Chonburi Province, Thailand, will specialize in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries for EV manufacturers. The construction of the factory is currently progressing steadily, and it is expected to employ over 1,000 workers once operational.
