Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 13, Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer XPENG officially released the 2025 XPENG G6 and 2025 XPENG G9 models onto the market, introducing significant upgrades while lowering prices compared to previous models.

The 2025 XPENG G6, a mid-size SUV, is available in three variants priced between 176,800 yuan and 198,800 yuan, reflecting a 23,100-yuan reduction from the previous model's starting price. Meanwhile, the 2025 XPENG G9, a mid-to-large SUV, also comes in three trim levels, priced from 248,800 yuan to 278,800 yuan, marking a 15,100-yuan price cut.

According to XPENG CEO He Xiaopeng, the 2025 XPENG G6 represents a full model overhaul rather than a mere facelift, featuring 81 upgrades across its exterior, interior, and configuration. Notably, 34% of its primary components have been redesigned, and a new chassis system has been introduced. XPENG reportedly invested over 200 million yuan in refining the chassis to enhance driving dynamics.

The 2025 XPENG G9, as the brand's annual facelift model, comes with 66 improvements and dual-chamber air suspension as a standard feature across all trims. He Xiaopeng also revealed that the G9, as the brand's flagship model, will receive monthly OTA updates, with major system upgrades every quarter to continuously enhance user experience.

Both models are equipped with 5C ultra-fast charging AI-enabled batteries. The 2025 G9 boasts a peak charging power of 530 kW, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% of its battery capacity in just 12 minutes, with a CLTC-rated range of up to 725 km. The 2025 G6, on the other hand, can add over 1 km of range per second, with a 10-minute charge providing up to four hours of driving time.

In terms of smart driving feature, XPENG has eliminated LiDAR sensors from both models, instead featuring the Turing AI pure-vision intelligent driving system as standard. Both vehicles support city-level point-to-point navigation driving, while the new G6 is set to receive an advanced "Campus Roaming" intelligent driving feature later this year. This upgrade aims to bridge the final gap to Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities.

Additionally, the 2025 XPENG G6 and G9 will be available in both left-hand and right-hand drive versions, with plans to expand to over 60 countries and regions worldwide by the end of the year.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
