Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 12, Black Sesame Technologies announced a strategic partnership with the team of Mr. Liu Sheng, Executive Dean of the Institute of Technological Sciences at Wuhan University and an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, to drive technological breakthroughs and innovative applications in humanoid robotics, according to a post on the WeChat account of Black Sesame Technologies.

The collaboration centers around "TIANWEN," Wuhan University's first self-developed humanoid robot, integrating Black Sesame Technologies' cutting-edge chips and algorithms to enhance its cognitive and motor functions.

Both parties are also working on mass-production-ready chip solutions for humanoid robots, aiming to push the industry's technological boundaries.

In robotics, the "brain" handles complex environmental perception, decision-making, and task planning, while the "cerebellum" governs motion control and body coordination. Black Sesame Technologies, leveraging its expertise in chip and algorithm development, has created an advanced "brain-cerebellum" platform that empowers TIANWEN with enhanced perception, decision-making, and control capabilities.

The "brain" platform is powered by Black Sesame Technologies' Huashan® A2000 chip, which delivers high-performance computing tailored for general AI applications. Designed to equip AI models with human-like common sense and decision-making abilities, the A2000 chip features a heterogeneous computing architecture and an integrated hardware acceleration engine, optimizing machine learning algorithms for trillions of calculations per second. With high computational power, bandwidth, multimodal fusion, and energy efficiency, it provides a robust foundation for TIANWEN's real-time data processing and decision-making models.

A key advantage of the A2000 chip is its scalability and support for embodied intelligence algorithms, allowing robots to process multimodal sensory data in real time—including visual, auditory, and tactile inputs—to make intelligent decisions. Whether in industrial automation or dynamic service environments, the A2000's computing power ensures seamless AI integration for humanoid robotics.

The "cerebellum" platform is built on Black Sesame Technologies's Wudang® C1236 chip, which enhances real-time motion control. The C1236 chip architecture utilizes time-sharing operating systems and hardware isolation technology, enabling parallel processing of AI computation and motion control tasks. This reduces system latency, improves operational safety and reliability, and ensures precise movement execution in complex environments.

With the project launched in March 2024, TIANWEN has drawn significant attention. Standing 1.7 meters tall and weighing 65 kg, it features 36 degrees of freedom and an advanced dexterous hand design capable of precise object manipulation. These attributes give it a competitive edge in key performance metrics. The partnership with Black Sesame Technologies will significantly enhance TIANWEN's motion control, environmental perception, and human-robot interaction capabilities, broadening its application potential.

As Black Sesame Technologies' brain-cerebellum platform is further integrated into TIANWEN, the robot is set to achieve a qualitative leap in perception, decision-making, and control. Beyond mastering basic mobility skills such as walking, running, and jumping, TIANWEN will leverage its advanced sensing and interaction abilities to adapt to dynamic environments, delivering more intelligent and convenient services to humans.

SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Fluctuated Upward on March 13
[SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Fluctuated Upward on March 13] SMM's battery-grade lithium carbonate index price fluctuated upward from the previous working day. Futures trend, the most-traded contract fluctuated higher after opening and once climbed to around 163,000 yuan/mt; after the midday session, the price reversed downward and once fell to 150,000 yuan/mt near the close, then fluctuated rangebound at low levels until the close. As of the close, open interest for the day decreased by about 8,500 lots from the previous trading day. Actual transactions, upstream lithium chemical plants showed a clear reluctance to sell and held prices firm, while willingness to sell spot orders remained weak; downstream material plants still mainly stayed cautious and on the sidelines, maintaining only just-in-time procurement. Overall, both market inquiries and actual transactions were sluggish. As for subsequent price movements, given that downstream procurement sentiment remained cautious and the market lacked sustained momentum to chase higher prices, lithium carbonate prices were expected to continue a fluctuating trend in the short term.
