Beijing (Gasgoo)- LiDAR maker Hesai Technology announced on March 12 that it has secured a milestone multi-year exclusive supply agreement with a leading European automaker.

Under this deal, Hesai will provide high-performance, long-range LiDAR for the automaker's next-generation vehicle platform, covering multiple internal combustion engine (ICE) and new energy vehicle (NEV) models. According to Hesai, the contract, which extends beyond 2030, represents the largest overseas series-production LiDAR order to date, further solidifying Hesai's leadership in the global market.

Li Yifan, Co-founder and CEO of Hesai, emphasized that this long-term partnership is a testament to the company’s cutting-edge performance and product quality. "This agreement highlights the confidence international top-tier OEMs have in our ability to meet their rigorous standards. Our innovative LiDAR technology will play a crucial role in both ICE vehicle and NEV platforms, contributing to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), enhancing road safety, and reducing traffic accidents."

As of February 2025, Hesai has secured mass production supply agreements with 22 global automakers across 120 vehicle models, reinforcing its technological leadership and market recognition.

Notably, Hesai reported a full-year revenue of 2.08 billion yuan in 2024, with its fourth-quarter revenue reaching 720 million yuan. The company delivered a total of 501,889 LiDAR units in 2024, marking a 126% year-on-year spike.  In December 2024, the company became the world’s first LiDAR supplier to achieve a monthly delivery volume exceeding 100,000 units.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
