Paopoom Rojanasakul, Deputy Finance Minister of Thailand, stated on March 10 that Thailand plans to offer tax incentives for the production of plug-in hybrid vehicles. If approved, this policy is expected to take effect starting in 2026. Paopoom revealed that under the plan, taxes will be based on the driving range per charge of the vehicles—the longer the range, the lower the tax—and added that the proposal will be submitted to the cabinet in April.
