Empower New Energy, a solar developer and impact investor focused on Africa, has signed a deal to install 5.8 MWp of solar arrays at the premises of manufacturing and logistics company Saray Immo in Morocco.

The project will be carried out under a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA), as announced by Empower New Energy on Wednesday. As part of the agreement, Empower New Energy will finance and construct two rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems covering a total area of 49,000 square meters. The company will also manage the operations of the systems after they are commissioned.

The total investment for the project is USD 3.5 million (EUR 3.2 million), and according to Empower New Energy, it will become Morocco's largest solar rooftop PV installation. Once operational, the solar arrays are expected to generate around 9,600 MWh of electricity annually, offsetting approximately 6,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
