Beijing (Gasgoo)- The all-electric MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman models have started production at Spotlight Automotive's Zhangjiagang plant under, according to Dr. Stefan Floeck, Senior Vice President Product Line MINI and BMW Compact Class. The two models are set to launch in the Chinese market soon.
As MINI's high-performance sub-brand, JCW is known for its distinctive design elements, including red roofs, checkered flag motifs, and red brake calipers, making it instantly recognizable among MINI enthusiasts. The latest all-electric JCW models, first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last year, demonstrate MINI's commitment to pushing the boundaries of high-performance electric vehicles.
Dr. Floeck emphasized that "2025 will be the year of MINI JCW," highlighting the brand's expansion in the high-performance small car segment. Following the production of the electric MINI Cooper and MINI Aceman, the addition of these JCW models strengthens MINI's global lineup. He also revealed that MINI is set to introduce a unique convertible model this year, already launched in overseas markets. A potential JCW version of this convertible could make it a one-of-a-kind offering in the small car segment.
