The First Coil of Steel for NEVs from Angang's Newly Built Rolling Mill Successfully Rolled Off the Production Line!

Published: Mar 7, 2025 15:46

On February 26, the first coil of NEV steel produced by the newly built No. 3 twenty-high rolling mill at Ansteel Co., Ltd.'s Cold Rolled Silicon Steel Plant successfully rolled off the production line. This milestone marks Ansteel's achievement as the first in the global new energy silicon steel sector to realize full coverage of all varieties and specifications, elevating its technical strength to an industry-leading level. As a key project in Ansteel Group's 14th Five-Year Plan for strategic emerging industries, this accomplishment not only highlights Ansteel's robust capabilities in the new materials field but also reflects the efficient collaboration and commitment of Ansteel International Trade Company in equipment procurement and resource coordination.

Since the project's kickoff ceremony in July 2023, Ansteel International Trade Company has adhered to a full-process, full-chain service model to ensure the project's progress from "contract signing and introduction" to "full-line operation." The company's Non-Steel Product Trading Department team engaged in intensive coordination with foreign parties, meticulously managing contract details to achieve the shortest signing cycle while securing the most favorable terms for Ansteel, achieving a dual win in efficiency and benefits. During the subsequent execution phase, the team provided round-the-clock support, overcoming challenges such as delivering equipment in 30 cross-border shipments, coordinating international transportation, expediting customs clearance, and inviting foreign experts for on-site support. These efforts successfully addressed logistical bottlenecks and technical difficulties, ensuring the production line was commissioned as planned, earning high recognition from the end users and project management departments.

This successful practice underscores the pivotal role of the International Trade Company in Ansteel's global resource integration and major project implementation. Looking ahead, the company will continue to leverage its "three businesses and three platforms" strategy, demonstrating the deep value of "industry chain collaboration" through action, supporting Ansteel's green industry upgrades, and contributing to the accelerated development of Ansteel into a world-class enterprise with greater international influence.

Before the holiday, the black chain is unlikely to see a trend-driven market [SMM Steel Industry Chain Weekly Report].
This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
