The inaugural Global Palladium Innovation Application Competition has officially launched, with a total prize pool of $350,000. Scientists, startups, and research teams engaged in the research, analysis, and development of new-type palladium applications must submit their entries by July 31, 2025. The competition is organized by the Precious Metals Working Committee of the China Association of Materials Recycling (CPMIC).
The competition aims to discover and support outstanding scientific and application concepts, as well as R&D efforts surrounding palladium-based materials with unique properties. These materials are expected to drive new industrial applications of palladium and contribute to the development of future technologies.
Award Nominations:
• New Frontiers in Palladium Applications: Excellence in Scientific Development Award;
• New Frontiers in Palladium Applications: Scientific Paper Award;
• New Frontiers in Palladium Applications: Scientific Practice Innovation Award.
The prize money for the Global Palladium Innovation Application Competition will be allocated to the winners of each nominated award:
• Excellence in Scientific Development Award: First Prize $120,000; Second Prize $60,000.
• Scientific Paper Award: First Prize $80,000; Second Prize $40,000.
• Scientific Practice Innovation Award: First Prize $50,000.
Entries will be evaluated by the competition's international jury, which consists of distinguished scientists and experts from leading universities and research centers worldwide.
Bian Jiang, Vice President of the Precious Metals Working Committee of the China Association of Materials Recycling, stated:
“Palladium is critical to the development of multiple industries, including high-tech and green industries.
