Recently, the world's first "sodium-lithium hybrid storage" power station officially commenced operations in Ningxia. This project, jointly developed by CATL and State Grid Corporation of China, marks a significant breakthrough in the ESS sector. Sodium-ion batteries, which are cost-effective, are suitable for peak shaving; lithium batteries, on the other hand, respond quickly and can efficiently perform frequency regulation. This combination reduces the cost per kilowatt-hour by 20% and increases efficiency to 92%.
