Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 3, Geely Auto debuted the Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM, the first B+ segment flagship plug-in hybrid electric sedan under its Galaxy brand, at the Geely AI Smart Technology Conference.

The Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM inherits Geely Galaxy's signature "Ripple Aesthetics" design philosophy while incorporating distinctive elements such as "Flying Eaves" headlights, "Jade Flow" body contours, and "Rising Sun" taillights, creating a refined and luxury look inspired by traditional Chinese culture.

The car measures 5,018mm in length, 1,918mm in width, and 1,480mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,928mm.

The rear design features a short-trunk fastback silhouette, enhancing its sporty character. Unlike traditional full-width taillights, the Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM adopts a sleek, tapering taillight design that converges toward the center, interrupted by the "GEELY" logo before angling upward, delivering a striking visual effect.

Inside, the cabin boasts over 85% soft-touch materials, with class-leading microfiber suede coverage. The VIP executive electric seat offers the longest seat cushion, largest sliding range, and greatest reclining angle in its class, along with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. A 23-speaker Flyme Sound system ensures an immersive audio experience.

Powering the Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM is Geely's NordThor EM-P hybrid system, the same high-performance setup used in Lynk & Co models. It delivers a combined torque of 605Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 6 seconds, while maintaining exceptional fuel efficiency at 3.67L/100km.

On the technology front, the new model comes standard with the G-Pilot H1 advanced intelligent driving system, offering highway and elevated road NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functions. Higher-spec trims also feature LiDAR sensors, further enhancing its smart driving capabilities.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
