Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 3, Geely officially launched its unified intelligent driving solution, G-Pilot ("Qianli Haohan" in Chinese), which comes standard with highway Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) and Automatic Parking Assist (APA).

The system is set to begin large-scale deployment of D2D (Door-to-Door Navigation Assist) functions in March 2025.

According to official announcements, G-Pilot is positioned as a safer intelligent driving system. All future products under Geely’s Galaxy new energy vehicle brand will be equipped with this system, aiming to democratize intelligent driving and safety technologies.

AI empowerment: the debut of "G-Pilot"

In an era dominated by AI, Geely has fully embraced artificial intelligence, claiming to be the only automaker globally to achieve comprehensive AI integration across all domains. Key AI-driven innovations, such as the Geely GEA smart new energy architecture, NordThor EM-i super hybrid system, Xingrui AI cloud, and AI Galaxy smart assistant, have already been applied to vehicle architecture, powertrains, chassis, cabins, and more.

Geely has also integrated AI into R&D, production, and after-sales services, delivering an all-scenario smart experience and cementing its status as a pioneer in AI-driven automotive manufacturing.

For the core pillars of intelligent driving—computing power, algorithms, and data—Geely has assembled a formidable "triad":

Computing Power: Through partnerships with StepFun, Qianli Technology, and DreamSmart Group, Geely established the Xingrui Intelligent Computing Center 2.0—the world's first intelligent vehicle computing alliance. With computing resources exceeding 10,000 GPUs and a total capacity of 23.5 EFLOPS, Geely now leads Chinese automakers in computational power.

Algorithms: In 2023, Geely launched its proprietary Xingrui AI large model, which has since been deeply integrated with DeepSeek AI. Additionally, Geely and StepFun jointly open-sourced two multimodal AI models (Step-1 and Step-2). Supported by DeepSeek and Step models, the Xingrui large model now boasts enhanced scenario comprehension, decision optimization, and continuous learning capabilities.

Data: Geely's fleet of L2 assisted driving-enabled vehicles has surpassed 7.5 million units (the largest in China), accumulating 10 billion kilometers of real-world driving data. Its self-developed AI-Drive large model can generate complex driving scenarios equivalent to "10,000 kilometers per hour" for algorithm training. This virtual-real fusion "world model" has improved intelligent driving training efficiency by 30 times, laying a robust foundation for safety democratization.

Moreover, Geely's GeeSAT now operates 30 in-orbit satellites, providing 24/7 coverage for 90% of the globe. By integrating satellite connectivity with its driving systems, Geely's technology transcends traditional driver assistance—it becomes a 24/7 global "safety guardian" capable of predicting natural disasters, rerouting vehicles, and autonomously avoiding hazards.

Democratizing intelligent driving while prioritizing safety

To make advanced driving systems accessible and safe, Geely has invested heavily in diverse technical pathways, including pure vision vs. LiDAR and HD map-based vs. HD map-less navigation, creating industry-leading solutions.

In 2023, Geely became one of China's first automakers to enter the NOA Sandbox pilot program. By 2024, it had passed all NOA functional tests, validating the safety and reliability of its systems. Through stress-testing edge cases, Geely developed cutting-edge safety protocols for the industry.

By incorporating end-to-end models, VLM (Vision-Language Models), and world models, Geely finalized its unified solution: G-Pilot. Its Chinese name "Qianli" symbolizes its leading-edge AI and computing power, while "Haohan" represents Geely's top-tier driving capabilities and user experience.

G-Pilot offers five tiers (H1, H3, H5, H7, H9) to cater to vehicles across Geely's brands and price points. Even the entry-level H1 exceeds industry standards with 100+ TOPS computing power. The flagship H9 features a fully redundant L3 architecture with dual NVIDIA Thor U chips, making it the first mass-producible L3 solution.

Rollout timeline

The H1 tier G-Pilot is already available on the Geely Galaxy Xingyao 8 and the Galaxy E8.  Meanwhile, the upgraded and new Galaxy models in the second half of 2025 will feature different tier G-Pilot systems. Moreover, a flagship model under Galaxy with the H7 tier G-Pilot system will debut later this year.

Aside from Galaxy, Geely's Preface model lineup will also adopt the G-Pilot system, promoting intelligent and safety technologies across both new energy and oil-fueled vehicles.
