LME Reports Single Party Controls 90% of Aluminum Inventory Worth $5 Billion

According to the data released by the LME on Monday, one party controlled up to 90% of the aluminum inventory on the London Metal Exchange, valued at approximately $5 billion. Although the exchange did not disclose the identity of the individual holding the large position, as of the relevant date, the total inventory of LME aluminum ingots was 517,150 mt, including 206,900 mt of registered warehouse warrants and 310,250 mt of cancelled warrants.
